Is it really October? Wasn't it just summer? Life seems to be flying past me right now at an alarming rate. It is so hard to fathom that a week ago I was just getting ready to go on my mini-break. I realized just recently how busy this month is going to be. Before I know it, it will be the holidays, then Mardi Gras, then French Quarter Fest, then Jazz Fest next thing I know it will be summer! I guess I just got to grab a hold and enjoy the ride.

This weekend coming up is a prime example of my schedule. As of today I start house sitting for some friends. While one of them comes home on Monday? They will be out again next Thursday. Starting on that day another friend leaves town and I am watching their house as well. Tonight I have to do inventory of all the merchandise that I have and organize it all. I am lucky as I get to sell merch for not only Bonerama this weekend but Porter Batiste Stoltz as well (new CD is out NOW!!). Hopefully before I go home for the evening to start on that, I will get to go see Rebirth play in Lafayette Square. I can just walk out my building and am right there.

Tomorrow after work I will race home and do a last minute check on the merch, feed the cats then I am out the door to help a friend with their merch sales at Gretna Fest. Then it is time for a jaunt over to Covington for Bonerama's gig.

Saturday I will attempt to rest, and hopefully get a pedicure as I am in desperate need for one. I do believe there is a Feret Street Fest as well....or maybe it is just the market? That evening I am going to be enjoying the music of Porter Batiste Stoltz at the New Orleans Seafood Fest. Sadly I do think they are only playing an hour...possibly an hour and a half. It has been too long. Luckily they are playing later on this month at Howlin Wolf. When they are done I may meander over to the CAC where Bonerama will be playing.

Sunday? Gretna Fest. Bonerama has their set, so does Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes (I think).

Then comes Monday. I am once again helping co-produce a few shows for the WWOZ fund drive and I have a late show that night. Next week includes, friends birthdays, friends in town and really good music. As well as the said house sitting and co-producing.

Did I mention work at all? Yeah that is happening as well. Noticed that I haven't mentioned anything about the Maple Leaf? I am in desperate need of a Maple Leaf fix and pronto. Two weeks in a row and not going? Something is just WRONG with that picture. Have I mentioned lately how much I love living here? Because I do. I really really do.
